One of the wonderful music education sights at NAMM 2014 was the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. This bus is a non-profit 501c3 teaching bus that travels to schools across the country to gets students involved in music. Teaching them how to write a song, record it, produce the recorded product, and market it through video offering a complete inside look at the production side of the music industry.

With so many schools removing music and arts programs due to budgetary concerns, the opportunity that the John Lennon Educational Bus provides is essential. Music stirs the brain to think creatively. Without such thoughts, a child’s mind grows dim and void of the color that brightens the world. Open a child’s mind to the music, open his or her mind to what’s possible, to growth, wisdom, and beauty. The Rock Rag salutes you John Lennon Educational Bus!

JLETB_logo_2013For those of you wondering how it is possible to carry such an incredible and fitting name John Lennon, as a supporter of this program Yoko Ono Lennon has allowed the use of the trademarked name as well as licensing of the the art held by Big One Arts, Inc. The tour bus website includes a quote directly from Yoko saying, “This is precisely the kind of project John Lennon would have loved.” Some of the other main sponsors include Apple, and Monteblanc, NAMM, Sony, Gibson, and this is only a small portion from their long list, all believing in the project.

Get inspired. Give the gift of music, from a foundation that inspires creative thinking for a better world.
