Definitely NOW, Liam Bailey’s Debut Release is Out NOW!

Liam Bailey, a singer from the United Kingdom, who weaves a mellifluous tapestry of rock, reggae, and R&B. Previously signed by the late Amy Winehouse, on her label Lioness Records Bailey is now on Salaam Remi‘s (Nas, Kendrick Lamar) label Flying Buddha Records a division of Sony Masterworks. Bailey and his distinctive band have created a strong and eclectic album. Definitely NOW bristles with the multicultural influences of the UK music scene as well as Bailey’s Jamaican heritage. The album rocks as well as soothes.

With the help of executive producer Salaam Remi, Definitely NOW begins with the psychedelic garage shuffle “On My Mind.” Heavy rock bass and drums with soaring guitar work give way to more in the same vein with “Breaking.” The chemistry between the band’s rugged sound and Bailey’s smooth reggae tinged soul is refreshing and continues on through “Fool Boy.”

Bailey shifts gears on “Villain” with its smooth 60’s R&B, showcasing the band’s musical range. On the lush and dreamy ballad “Autumn Leave,” Bailey emotes in all the right places then takes a hairpin turn on the wistfully acoustic “Battle Hymn Of Central London.” Bob Marley’s influence wafts throughout, along with a predilection for mellow rock with orchestral backing. It’s an excellent recipe and Liam Bailey cooks with passion and fire.
