Los Angeles, California | Saturday, October 1st, 2016 Review by Kimberly Annette A soulful, gritty and powerful voice that explodes in honest, raw emotion of reality is the only way to explain the gifted talent of Chrystyna Marie and her EP Loaded Gun. Originating from Canada, Marie is a blues/pop/indie singer/songwriter working on achieving her dreams and going about it as an independent artist. If the 4 song EP Loaded Gun is any indication of all that is to come from this new artist her future is looking brilliant. “Breath is life, and life is music. I wanted to create music from personal experiences and real emotions. Something the everyday person can relate to and build strength from having been exposed to It.“ ~ Chrystyna Marie Apparent in Marie’s music are the influences of some inspirational favorites and classic greats like Janis Joplin, Ottis Redding, and Etta James and can actually be felt within the first two tracks of her EP. The first and title track “Loaded Gun” is a sexy, down and dirty bluesy dose of addictive love that raptures the soul and fuels passion. “Down The Road” the second track is a classic blues infused groove. Also obvious are the influences of modern pop artists such as Selena and Christian Aguilera. The last two tracks “No More,” and “The Tower” definitely lean more towards a mellow pop vibe with strong emotional vocals. Marie proves herself to be an incredible vocalist and talented songwriter. Loaded Gun was released earlier this year on February 29th and is available for streaming on Soundcloud or purchase on CD Baby. (See the links below for more information).
