Marianne started out as a journalism major at Los Angeles City College, working at one point as the college paper’s advertising manager. After moving back to her native northern California, Marianne decided to change majors and graduated from Sacramento State University with a BA degree in communication studies, with an emphasis in public relations. She simultaneously earned an AA in photography from Sacramento City College.

As a long-term employee at George Lucas’ visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic, Marianne held many positions, primarily in the computer graphics department. She went on to work for Robert Zemeckis’ company, Image Movers Digital, where she served as a department coordinator.

Marianne is a writer of songs, scripts and short stories. She is also an actor, featured in independent films, television and stage and is a member of SAG-AFTRA. Her most recent endeavor is voicework in the unreleased film “Space Station 76,” starring Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson.

She has played rhythm guitar in bands of many genres – from garage bands to pop-punk to gothic to mock country and finally pop-rock. She sang back-up in most of her bands and has contributed vocals to electronic music recordings.

 She is happy to be joining theRockRag.com at its inception.
